This legendary tanning oil contains coconut oil and selected plant oils along with precious roucou, embodying the intensity of a Caribbean summer. The deep red seeds of the roucou shrub were used as a traditional form of sun protection by the Caribbean Indians due to the high proportion of provitamin A. This stimulates melanin production and the skin’s own protection mechanism. The nutrients in this special formula pamper the skin while you sunbathe and give your tan a gentle, copper-coloured shimmer.
Sunbathe in the morning or afternoon for the best tan: UV rays are at their most dangerous between noon and 4 p.m. Do not spend too much time in direct sun. Consider how intense the sun’s rays are in your particular location.
Note: this product provides a very low-level of sun protection. In order to maintain protection in the sun, this oil must be used together with a sun lotion that has a sufficiently high sun protection factor (SPF).
The pure coconut oil found in roucou oil solidifies at a temperature below 25°C/77°F. To re-liquify, simply warm the bottle of oil in tepid water (cooler than 40°C/104°F). This solidification does not affect the product quality in any way.
